Brief Profile


Jared Jonathan Luna is an artist and scholar based in Quezon City. They have a BA in Anthropology from the UP Diliman and a joint international MA in Dance Knowledge, Practice and Heritage from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Blaise Pascal University, Szeged University and Roehampton University. Their practice is interested in vernacular movement systems in urban spaces. In their works, Jared tries to make sense of the role that the body and its movements take in the meaning making process. In doing so, they toy around with diverse movement vocabularies from streetdance and contemporary dance. They have presented their works in local and international platforms such as conferences and dance festivals.

Outside of their works, Jared participates in the Ballroom (voguing) scene in the Philippines. They walk New Way Performance for the Kiki House of Dirty
