TWSC LECTURE: Assessing the Status of Indigenous Peoples' Rights under the Aquino Administration

Ginanap ang unang forum ng 2016 UP TWSC Public Forum Series ika-29 ng Enero 2016 (Biyernes), mula 2:00 hanggang 4:00 ng hapon, sa Pulungang Claro M. Recto, Bulwagang Rizal, Kolehiyo ng Arte at Literatura, Unibersidad ng Pilipinas-Diliman.

Tampok sila Dr. Nestor T. Castro ng Departamento ng Antropolohiya at Prop. Jay A. Yacat ng Departamento ng Sikolohiya bilang mga tagapagsalita sa forum na ito. Si Dr. Castro ay tatalakay sa estado ng mga karapatan ng mga katutubo sa kanyang, "Assessing the Status of Indigenous Peoples' Rights under the Aquino Administration." Si Prop. Yacat naman ay susuriin ang naging implementasyon ng mga karapatan ng kabataan sa ilalim ng administrasyong Aquino sa kanyang, "Are Filipino Children Still at the Margins of Development?: The State of Children's Rights Implementation under the Aquino Administration."

Ang 2016 UP TWSC Public Forum Series ay pinamagatang, "Anim na Tanong sa Anim na Taon: Ang mga Agham Panlipunan at Pilosopiya at ang Papalitang Rehimeng Aquino." Katuwang ang bawat departamento ng Kolehiyo ng Agham Panlipunan at Pilosopiya ng UP Diliman, layunin ng serye ng mga public forums na ito ang maglatag ng mga isyung panlipunan na karapat-dapat na pag-ukulan ng pansin—bagay na hindi naibigay, o kung ibinigay man ay hindi sapat, ng gobyernong Aquino—ng pamahalaan.

Ang Forum Series na ito ay suportado ng UP Padayon Public Service Office ng UP Office of the Vice President for Public Affairs. Ang presentasyon ng mga speaker sa apat na public forum ay itatampok sa UP sa Halalan website, na proyekto ng UP Padayon na naglalayong mapakinabangan ang kasanayan ng mga akademiko sa UP upang mapaabot sa publiko ang mga matalim at mas malalimang pagtalakay ng mga mahahalagang pambansang isyu na siya namang magiging impluwensiya sa mga desisyon ng mga botante sa Halalan 2016.

"A Tradition of Resilience, The Resiliency of Tradition: Local Knowledges and Sense-Making of Natural Disasters" is the second lecture of the 2014 UP TWSC Public Lecture Series on Natural Disasters. This lecture was held on 25 September 2014 (Thursday), from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Room 400 Palma Hall, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City.

This lecture featured Dr. Soledad Natalia Dalisay, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Anthropology, College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP), University of the Philippines-Diliman. The reactors to Dr. Dalisay's lecture were Dr. Jake Rom Cadag, Assistant Professor in the CSSP Department of Geography, and Dr. Emmanuel Luna, Professor and Director of the Doctor in Social Development Program of the College of Social Work and Community Development in UP Diliman.
